Vittore Carpaccio: Paintings and Drawings
Jul 1, 2021  - Oct 1, 2021

Renowned primarily for his religious paintings, Vittore Carpaccio (1465-1520) combined sacred stories with scenes of everyday life. His scenarios were richly detailed, combining his observation of urban Venetian scenes with poetic and fantastical elements.

This exhibition, in collaboration with The National Gallery of Washington, traces the development of Carpaccio's painting in both thematic and chronological terms. Learn more about the artist's creative imagination, rigorous technique, and his interest in the natural world and light.

This amazing City Pass will show you more of Venice than a stripy-jumper-clad gondola captain high on Italian coffee could ever do!

Dive into the past at the Natural History Museum. Ride the waterbus, then head to the Glass Museum, or for more frills and fabrics, perhaps the Lace Museum or The Museo di Palazzo Mocenigo? And of course the Doge's Palace - symbol of the Venetian Republic - is included!

Zip around the city and soak up the best of this waterbound capital of romance.

Plus, all that walking about means exactly what you think it does: you can eat a LOT more pasta.
