Originally built at the beginning of the 16th century as an addition to St. Mark's Basilica, Campanile di San Marco once served as a lighthouse for sailors arriving in Venice.

However, its real claim to fame is its connection to Galileo Galilei, who demonstrated his revolutionary telescope at the top of Campanile di San Marco.

Easy to enter the tower. No limit time to stay on the top. Nice views if the weather is nice. Some scafoldings in the top floor, but not affecting the sightseeing experience

Very nice experience, unfortunately there was some fog but still it was beautiful and buying the ticket in advance made it even better.

Great view from top and definitely worth going up.
Queues were not so big though so probably cheaper just to turn up.
