Located beside the Luxembourg Gardens, the Musée du Luxembourg was Paris's first museum of contemporary art. But even before it began showcasing modern works in 1818, the museum – then housed in the east wing of the Palace of Luxembourg – had been displaying artworks since 1750.
Now located inside the palace's former orangery, guests can enjoy regularly changing exhibitions.
