Carmen took us around on a 2.5 hour tour of the Albaicin and Sacromonte neighborhoods, pointing out several viewpoints and sharing her experiences of living in Granada. Her pride in being a citizen of Granada and in its multicultural past and present came out very clearly during the tour. She also provided insights into Granada's history with the Flamenco and how it originated as a result of its multicultural population. The state of the Roma community today and stories of their survival were well narrated. Carmen also gave us a list of recommended eating spots, flamenco shows and other activities in Granada. The tour ended around the sunset time which gave spectacular views of the city from the higher vantage points. The only small downside was Carmen's accent which was difficult for me to pickup at times but may not be a problem for others. Overall, a highly recommended tour to explore Granada's historical Albaicin and Sacromonte neighborhoods.
