The Guggenheim's Learning Through Art program, under the Gail May Engelberg Center for Arts Education, partners artists with New York City public schools to bring art projects into the classroom and encourage critical thinking about art. Founded in 1970 after arts and music classes were eliminated from local schools, it includes residencies, museum visits, and an annual student art exhibition.
