While abstract expressionism is famous in the world of paints, with Jackson Pollock's drip technique still holding sway over gallery-goers to this day, it also inspired sculptors of the same era to experiment.

The Guggenheim's latest exhibition, 'Knotted, Torn, Scattered: Sculpture after Abstract Expressionism', showcases sculptures from the Guggenheim collection from the 1960s and '70s by six artists who helped redefine the legacy of postwar art in the United States.

On display are works by Lynda Benglis, Maren Hassinger, Robert Morris, Senga Nengudi, Richard Serra, and Tony Smith. The artists express themselves through process, material (be that knots, belts, or industrial materials), and performance.
