Feast your eyes on European art from the 15th to the 21st centuries, Bulgarian art and a vast collection from Asia, Africa, and America from the 1970s onward. There's even exciting art from the Himalayas, featuring Buddhist works from Tibet, Nepal and India.

Take a walk through the ages of Bulgarian art. Witness works from masters like Rembrandt, Goya, Dalí, and Picasso, and stay tuned for changing temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

Built in 1916, the impressive Museum of Contemporary Art Sofia was originally used for storing artillery ammunition. These days, its weapons are a little more relaxed, in the form of some of Bulgaria's most treasured art. Will you get a shot of inspiration?

The collection of 'Christian Art on the Bulgarian Lands' (4th-19th centuries) houses almost 2,000 works, including icons, frescoes, and magnificent church plates. Here you can witness the unique Preslavian painted ceramics, and a fresco fragment of an image of a saint dating as far back as the 4th century!

In 'Bulgarian Art, 19th Century', explore the most complex and transient time in Bulgarian history and its artistic heritage, from medieval figurativeness to the development of the secular easel portrait.

Make sure to check out 'Asia, Africa, America', which will wow you with African figures and masks, Vietnamese lacquer paintings, traditional Japanese wood engraving known as Ukiyo-e, and much more.
