The Society of Illustrators proudly presents Illustrator as Witness a limited exhibit dedicated to the life and work of German-American author and illustrator Nora Krug. Combining illustration and scrapbooking, Krug draws the viewer into an authentic mode of storytelling of both her own life and the gripping historical account of others.

Krug's drawings and visual narratives have appeared in publications internationally, including her visual memoir Belonging: A German Reckons with History and Home and her collaboration with historian Timothy Snyder in a graphic edition of On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century – both of which are critically-acclaimed.

Founded in 1901, the Society of Illustrators is the oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to the art of illustration in the United States.

Open since 1981, the Society of Illustrators Museum provides a unique opportunity to view current and historical works of art by notable illustrators and comic artists. Hosting various exhibitions and events, the museum is hub for creativity in NYC, hosting regular competitions, lectures, and workshops. It's located on E 63rd Street, New York.
