The archaeological park of Neapolis hosts the most important ruins of the Ancient Greek and Roman city of Syracuse. You are literally walking amongst thousands of years of history!
Check out the Latomie del Paradiso, a mysterious, deep, limestone quarry that provided the stone to build this ancient city. Be wowed by the abundance of citrus trees in the area and the Ear of Dionysius, a 23-meter-high grotto that cuts into the cliffside by 65 meters. It's said that Dionysius used the excellent acoustics of the quarry to eavesdrop on his prisoners!
The highlight has to be the well-preserved Roman amphitheater of Syracuse, which once boasted 15,000 seats and special portals for easy access for gladiators and all their props.

Purtroppo l'esperienza è stata negativa,in quanto ho acquistato in abbinamento,su suggerimento di Tiquets,sia la visita al parco con guida , sia il parco con audioguida pensando presumibilmente che fossero due visite complementari. Un realtà,arrivati in biglietteria,gli addetti ci hanno spiegato che. si trattava di una stessa visita con l"unica differenza dell'audio guida in alternativa alla guida fisica. Cosa non segnalata sul sito. Ho optato per la prima opzione con la presenza dell'eccellente guida sig.a Marilina e ne sono rimasta soddisfatta. Su suggerimento dello staff Parco archeologico,ho provato a contattare l'assistenza clienti Tiquets per un rimborso dei biglietti non usufruiti (non per colpa mia) ma ,oltre all"assenza di un numero telefonico, esclusivamente via chat mi è stato risposto che non mi avrebbero rimborsato nulla o al massimo mi avrebbero scontato un'ulteriore acquisto presso loro. Assurdo, ho speso 43 euro buttati, per non aver nessuna spiegazione in merito e non aver utilizzato il servizio . Mai più! Per gli utenti,attenzione alle proposte combinate, spesso sono la stessa cosa.
