You too will feel like a storybook character in an enchanted forest as you walk through the gardens, filled with plants and flowers from all over the world. There's a lake, fountains, springs, and grottoes - and lots more magic to photograph, so be sure to arrive early!

Check out the gothic and Indian influences and take some time to smell the flowers, planted according to their geographical origins.

Getting There:

  • Take the train to Sintra from Oriente, Rossio or Entrecampos Station in Lisbon. When in Sintra, take the Scotturb bus #435 to Monserrate
  • Access to the Park of Monserrate from the historic center of Sintra, through Rua Barbosa Du Bocage, is interrupted due to an intervention carried out by the Municipality of Sintra, from 16 January and with a 30 days expected duration. During this period, it is only possible to access Monserrate via Colares, using the Estrada Nacional 247 (EN247)

Excellent
We really enjoyed this tour by ourselves. The gardens are gorgeous and the castle was beautiful! Well worth your time to go see experience this ompulent place.
