Description

The National Museum of Singapore is a fusion of cultural wonders where the past and the future converge in quite spectacular fashion. Inside this beautiful building, an eclectic variety of cutting-edge exhibitions take you on a moving and highly stimulating journey into the cultural heritage of Singapore. From interactive exhibits to immersive walk-in art installations, the hours will melt away as you explore this treasure trove of culture and history.

Incredible storytelling exhibits will take you on a trip through 700 years of Singapore's history, from a small port to a major international trading outpost; from a British Colony to a region of Malaysia, and finally to a prosperous independent city-state at the forefront of technology and innovation.

Wander into an enchanted woodland at the Story of the Forest exhibition, an incredible art installation designed by renowned Japanese digital art collective teamLab. This immersive gallery transforms 69 famous natural history drawings into dazzling 3D animations that juxtapose Singapore's colonial past with the modern day in a virtual visual landscape.

Explore the world of Southeast Asian supernatural beliefs in the multi-sensory Magic and Menace exhibition, and discover the plants and animals prized by traditional healers. Learn about the complex nature of Singaporean cultural and spiritual identity in the Voices of Singapore exhibition, and discover the boundless imagination of Singapore's children in the Growing Up exhibition.

Explore the Singapore of the Roaring Twenties, in Modern Colony, and see the ethereal movements of local artist Suzann Victor's Wings of a Rich Manoeuvre. These kinetic chandeliers form mesmerizing aerial calligraphy as they sway and morph from one hypnotic pattern to another. Truly a sight to behold!
