The scenic city of Sighişoara has a long history, with its small, fortified medieval town having played an important strategic and commercial role on the edge of central Europe for several centuries.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this 16th-century gem features nine towers, charming cobbled streets, burgher houses, and ornate churches that would rival anything found in Prague or Vienna in terms of atmosphere.

The city is also known for its connection with Vlad Tepes (also known as Vlad Dracula, or Vlad the Impaler), who served as the inspiration for the creation of Count Dracula by Bram Stoker.
