Shrewsbury prison is really well worth a visit. We had the guided tour with our guide Graham who was absolutely brilliant, so much information and history about Shrewsbury prison and the prison system.

Fascinating, and an eye opening experience. Our guide Graham was entertaining and full of insider anecdotes, giving us the realities of prison life that you never see on TV or movies. Excellent!

Shrewsbury Prison was built in 1793 and closed in 2013, with over 200 years of history behind its walls including the countries last remaining Georgian prison.
