After immersing yourself in its incredible architecture and dramatic history, you can rise above it all and climb the famed Giralda bell tower, which offers peerless views of the city of Seville. Discover the secrets of this UNESCO-listed treasure today!
Seville's city planners challenged themselves to build a cathedral "so beautiful and so great that those who see it will think we were mad." While we couldn't possibly comment on the mental faculties of these ancient Spaniards, we can confirm that their prized work is indeed pretty beautiful and pretty great.
135 meters long and a mighty 105 meters tall, it's an iconic component of Seville's historic city center, built on the site of a 12th century Almohad mosque. Now you can explore the intricately decorated gothic interior and admire this stunning cathedral inside and out at your leisure.
And it's not only beautiful to look at – it's incredible to look from! The Giralda tower is one of the oldest parts of the cathedral and was based on the Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech. It's so big that you could ride a horse to the top, but even horseless visitors can enjoy stunning views of the city and surroundings below.
