In the 50+ years that Korea has been divided, the North and South have become two distinct entities. A trip to the DMZ will let you realize just how close the two countries are. Only 2.5 kilometers divide them, but the rift of history and ideology is immeasurable.

This ticket will bring you to the border, and show you a number of key sights including Dorasan Observatory, the Third Tunnel, the Dorasan Station and Imjingak (Peace Nuri Park).

Beside the barbed wire, and with soldiers in sight, it will sink in just how real the divide between North and South Korea is. Your tour guide will help you understand the political situation after WWII, how the Cold War increased tensions, and the current state of the conflict.
