Are you ready to step into California's most notorious prison? A total of 36 prisoners made 14 escape attempts at the world-famous penitentiary. Who escaped Alcatraz and who still haunts its spooky cells?

When you book your Alcatraz tour, your bike tour will be scheduled for the day before. Say hi to the sea lions before taking off towards the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. As you pedal along the coast you'll see more wildlife, wave organs, and an old military fort.

Snap some photos from the Golden Gate Bridge with the city skyline towering in the background, then cruise downhill into sunny Sausalito where you'll take in more amazing views. Once you're ready, hop back on the ferry with your bike.

Guided Bike Tour:

  • The date you book is for Alcatraz and can't be amended. Your bike tour will be booked automatically the day before (unless you reschedule it)
  • Go to Bay City Bike Rentals & Tours at Fishermans Wharf and show your smartphone ticket
  • It starts at 10:00. Make sure to be there 30 minutes early

Alcatraz:

  • You must do this visit on the booked day
  • Show your smartphone voucher and a government-issued photo ID and collect your paper tickets at the Groups Window at Pier 33. Then continue to the boarding line
  • Please arrive 45 minutes before departure
  • You can stay on Alcatraz as long as you like; ferries return every 30 minutes
  • Photo ID is required when purchasing and picking up tickets. Photo ID is required to board the ferry. Photo I.D. is not required for all in your party, but only for those who purchased tickets
  • Bags larger than a standard backpack, 16" x 20", are not allowed on Alcatraz Island. Over-sized packs and luggage are not permitted. No exceptions. There are also no storage lockers at Pier 33
  • No one under the age of 18 can be without an adult
  • The contour of Alcatraz Island is rugged and steep. The distance between the dock and Alcatraz prison is about 1/4 mile (.4km), and the elevation change is 130 feet (40 meters)
  • Sustainable Easy Access Transport (S.E.A.T.) is available to those with mobility impairment
  • Consuming foods is only allowed at picnic areas
  • Service dogs are allowed. Pets or companion animals are not allowed
  • Get a full refund if you select a refundable ticket during checkout and cancel until 23:59 the day before you visit.
  • Rescheduling is not possible for this ticket.
