Congo Falls: It is a new two-acre gorilla habitat at the San Antonio Zoo, bringing gorillas back after more than 30 years. It includes the Mays Family Silverback Peak, a 70-foot tower that lets gorillas climb to an observation area with views of the zoo and the city.
The habitat has space for roaming, climbing, and exploring, along with waterfalls and browsing gardens. Guests can view the gorillas from multiple spots around the area.
During construction, limestone from the same quarry used for the Alamo was uncovered, adding a historical connection.
