St. Peter's Station
This trip to the awe-inspiring papal summer retreat in the hills outside of Rome departs from St. Peter’s train station, just ten minutes’ walk from St. Peter’s Square.
The leisurely hour-long train ride will take you directly to Castel Gandolfo train station, from where you will be brought to the extraterritorial papal palace, an escape for the popes since the 17th century. You’ll get a chance to visit both the opulent residence and the stunning gardens.
Tours take place every Saturday in season except on religious holidays, and pre-booking is essential to avoid missing out.
