ORP - St. Peter's Basilica

St. Peter's Basilica was built on the tomb of Peter, and it's a must see sight for any first time visitor to Rome. The Basilica itself was completed around the year 320 by Emperor Constantine.

St. Peter's Basilica is located on the Vatican hill, not too far from the Circus of Nero. It's easy to reach on foot, or by public transport.

Omnia Card for Rome & Vatican City: Skip The Line
I opted for the 24 hour card and was happy to do Vatican city in a day. The queue jump was perfect as people were queuing for 2-4 hours but we literally walked right in both at St Peter's and the Vatican museums. It was great that travel was also included so we didn't need to worry about how to pay for transport. The bonus is that we purchased the card last minute online and was able to use the PDF to travel from our hotel. We would definitely choose this option again

Organisation and entry was very good but the Museum and particularly the Sistine Chapel experience was sorely marred by lack of crowd control, too many people at one time made it very hot and smelly. It needs controlled viewing so that it can be appreciated rather than a rugby scrum.

This was essential to my fellow traveler and I avoiding a 3-4 hour line for St. Peter's Basilica. It was nice to be able to get right into the Vatican Museums too but the real sell here is the basilica. Remember that it's not open on Wednesdays and other certain days because of the Pope!

Great service at the shop, such lovely people. It’s a bit of a walk from St Peters to the museum entrance.
Have to be honest Sistine was a let down been there before and just too too many people trying to stop and look. Great day though and hop on hop off bus was fab. Great service, value for money and experience
