Learn the history behind this magnificent monument and all that surrounds it on a guided tour. Rome's most popular structure was built for three reasons... as a gift to the Roman Citizens from the Flavian Dynasty to increase their popularity, to stage various forms of entertainment, and of course to showcase Roman engineering techniques to the world.

Festivals, as well as games could last up to 100 days in the Colosseum. Your guide will walk you through the building, explaining the true brilliance behind the engineering of this structure. Listen to tales of the gladiators that so gallantly entertained hundreds of people, and take photos to remind yourself of how you, too, stood in this incredible place.

Your tour will then wind through the Palatine Hill & Roman Forum where you will be able to admire the incredible ruins and enjoy panoramic views of the Colosseum.

  • Valid ID is mandatory, in case of incorrect personal data, access to the Colosseum will not be possible
  • Show your smartphone voucher at the meeting point in Largo Gaetana Agnesi, the square located on the terrace ABOVE the Colosseum Metro Station
  • Make your way to the terrace above the Colosseum Metro Station. You'll find a pedestrian bridge to cross above the road. The office is located on the other side about 50 meters up the street. Look for the purple flag that says Crown Tours. If you are in front of the metro station, please make your way upstairs. Late arrivals cannot be guaranteed entrance
  • Be at the meeting point at least 30 minutes prior to the starting time

The remaining amount covers professional licensed guide services, headsets, booking fees, and other tour amenities.
