- Borrow binoculars on board, and get close to nature like never before thanks to a custom route and your captain's expert seamanship
Dress warmly and set sail from Iceland's rocky shores in search of puffins, ducks, arctic terns, guillemots and cormorants! Your captain will share stories of the ancient land and its wildlife as you scout for birds on either Akurey or Lundey island. He'll even let you borrow his binoculars.
In Iceland they call them 'Lundi', but the country's most revered bird - the puffin - also goes by 'Sea Parrot', 'Penguin of the North' and even 'Clown of the Sea'!
Meet your expert Icelandic guide at the Ægisgarður pier in Reykjavik's Old Harbour and board your boat. Then - depending on the tides - your trusty captain will sail you out to Akurey or Lundey island, both known for their plentiful birdlife.
As well as the iconic puffins, you'll see all sorts of native birds, including Icelandic eider ducks and chirping arctic terns. Don't worry about rocky shores - your captain knows all the best spots to get close to the birds, and he'll tell you all about them as you watch.
Sit back and listen to the sounds of nature. You can borrow binoculars on the boat but remember to bring a camera – it's an adventure that's sure to make an ornithologist out of anyone!
