The Panthéon is a beautiful, neo-Classical church located in the Latin Quarter of Paris, easy to reach on foot and by public transport. Originally dedicated to St. Genevieve (the patron saint of Paris), it's now a secular mausoleum that houses the remains of many French luminaries, Among those buried here are Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Marie Curie, and Émile Zola.

We booked from our flat the night before, received the bar codes by email & got in w/o delay. Be sure to get the audio. We shared 1 & it gave us so much history. We love the Pantheon, much more beautiful than the one in Rome. As an architect, I was awed & amazed by the design & structure. It was a wonderful visit!

Booking tickets in advance like cuts out the queue, and allows you more time to spend at the venue. I'm sorry I haven't availed of this service on other recent city breaks.

Interesting history...first a church...then a civil monument...then a church...and so on. There's plenty of room left if you become a famous Frenchman.
