Guided tour
  • Once the orangery for the Palace of Luxembourg, you can explore retrospectives and more inside this lavish building
  • Avoid the busy crowds that dominate the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay, and enjoy a more intimate art experience
  • Understand why Paris has been the center of the arts for centuries with exhibitions often devoted to the country's contributions to art

Located beside the Luxembourg Gardens, the Musée du Luxembourg was Paris's first museum of contemporary art. But even before it began showcasing modern works in 1818, the museum – then housed in the east wing of the Palace of Luxembourg – had been displaying artworks since 1750.

Now located inside the palace's former orangery, guests can enjoy regularly changing exhibitions.
