The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art opened on February 20, 1872. The original building was comprised of redbrick and stone, but has since been updated with a façade in the Beaux-Arts style. The building is located on 5th Avenue and 82nd Street right near Central Park.

As you enter, you’ll walk in to The Great Hall and from there you can make your way through the building’s 3 floors and numerous mezzanines. The entire building is roughly 2 million square feet and almost a ¼ mile long.

It worked out very well. Easy to get in, elevators and escalators available. Nice restaurant overlooking the park.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met): Skip The Line
When the lines get long and the weather gets cold, you do not want to waiste your time standing just waiting to get into the museum to start your enjoyment of any museum. You have traveled, sometimes from great distances as well just to be there. These skip the line tickets are worth the advantage s they offer.

The Met is a must see for any traveler to New York! This time we were fortunate to see the exhibit of Michelangelo, which was rare and extremely fascinating. We especially like to make use of their audio headphones, as they have art experts guiding the viewer along.
