The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art opened on February 20, 1872. The original building was comprised of redbrick and stone but has since been updated with a façade in the Beaux-Arts style. The building is located on 5th Avenue and 82nd Street right near Central Park.

As you enter, you’ll walk into the Great Hall and from there you can make your way through the building’s 3 floors and numerous mezzanines. The entire building is roughly 2 million sq ft and almost a ¼ mile long.

The Met is a must see! You need at least a day to see all the collections from every part of the world. I’m so glad I purchased advance tickets to the Met through Tiqets. No time wasted waiting in line. I will definitely use Tiqets again the next time I want to go to the Met.

Excellent collection, been there before, but I still get amazed by the extent of valuable arts and artifacts... my special preferences: Greek art, and the paintings of Monet, Degas, Renoir, etc.
