The museum lives up to its name. The collection runs from prehistoric times to the 21st century. It spread across the floors. The current exhibition, centred around the collections from the Viking era, is informative and innovative. There are bigger collections from the Viking era but that is not the point here. It's the breadth that the museum's strength.
