Royal portraits tell their own story, and at the National Maritime Museum you can trace the history of five royal dynasties through paintings as well as film and digital photography.

Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits allows you to go face-to-face with over 150 of the finest portraits – from Henry VII to Elizabeth II – which form a timeline of royal portraiture over the last 500 years.

The exhibition also gives special focus to Greenwich itself, a location that for so long has been associated with royal births, homes, and activity.

Pieced together from the National Portrait Gallery, Royal Museums Greenwich, and private collections, the exhibition includes royals captured by the likes of Sir Peter Lely, Annie Leibovitz, and Andy Warhol.
