Invitation to contemporary artist Myriam Mihindou, for an immersive work of sound constructed in resonance with the museum's collection of musical instruments.

Franco-Gabonese artist Myriam Mihindou presents an original installation celebrating Punu culture through the museum's collection of musical instruments and sound archives. By working with ceramics, assembling objects, sculptures, shapes, materials and sounds, and interacting with visitors, she proposes a work that allows us to see, hear and feel her relationship with her culture.

Myriam Mihindou pays homage to the Punu mourners, of whom she herself is a member, true companions of souls who guide the dead to the afterlife and the living in their mourning.

Suspended on a series of pillars, the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac features a vertical garden on the Seine side and enormous multicolored blocks on another. And once inside the grounds, the horizontal garden is full of birds and plants, walkways and paths.

Inside the museum, it's an anthropological journey around the world via art and artifacts. The permanent collection reaches back as far as the Neolithic period, and spans Oceania, Asia, Africa and the America.

Saw the exquisite Kehinde Wiley exhibition; fantastic paintings of leaders of various countries in Africa. Beautifully curated but you have to be careful in the dimly-lit (for effect)...
Saw the exquisite Kehinde Wiley exhibition; fantastic paintings of leaders of various countries in Africa. Beautifully curated but you have to be careful in the dimly-lit (for effect) recesses….make sure when turning the corner, you aren’t walking into netting ( as I mistakenly did).
