Meeting point

Karlsplatz 21, 80335, Munich

  • Take a guided daytrip from central Munich into the Bavarian countryside and see two of the world's most grandiose castles
  • See the beautiful Rococo architecture of Linderhof Palace, King Ludwig II's modest homage to Versailles
  • Take a tour of the mind-blowing architectural wonder that is Neuschwanstein Castle, inspired by Wagner's fairytale operas, and the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty

Steal away into a fairytale with a daytrip to Neuschwanstein & Linderhof Castles - two of the most extravagant castles in the world. See the castle that inspired Disney's Sleeping Beauty, in the calm seclusion of the Bavarian countryside, and get a sense of King Ludwig II's deep pockets and his obvious struggles with subtlety!

Depart from downtown Munich and get ready for castle doubleheader that's pure fantasy ... but in reality!

You'll toodle across hilly pastures and vast sweeping valleys to the Rococo elegance of Linderhof Palace. Inspired by the Palace of Versailles, it's all ornate Baroque architecture and manicured gardens.

As beautiful as it is, by King Ludwig II's standards, Linderhof is positively understated!

Neuschwanstein Castle will give you a proper sense of the Mad King's taste for opulent grandeur. There really is no way to exaggerate it - it's an architectural treasure that appears almost mystical on first glance... and second... and third!

Everything was great except timing. During all the excursion we ware in a rush and we could not see all attractions on sports . I think that 3 locations is too much. 2 locations would be perfect.

Dear San Franciscan, Its a perfect pace tour. Show up 15-30 mins beforehand, claim your seat. Your guide will tell you what’s up, approaching to the castles. We had a laid back tour guide, so it went a breeze. What we wish we’d know beforehand and fail to get emphasized. They’s made a pit stop at small city for lunch. Stay and order that bruschetta ( the ones that across from the street, that also sells gelato), it takes 15 mins to prep. I ordered Tiramisu for to go, they are very good.
When arriving at Neuschwanstein, go take the bus up then walk 15 mins to the bridge to see waterfall and castle from the bridge. Then walk back to wait for your guided tour. I went on Nov 10 23, it’s chilly but not yet snowing. After guided tour, we walked down to bus tour. It is beautiful.
Oh we spent a little too long in the city, so we took the horse carriage up to castle ( if not you have to hike about 40 mins up). We should’ve taken the bus up, see the castle from the bridge then do the tour.
Oh well. We’ll come back again next time.
