Jungle Island Miami
On December 20, 1936, Franz Scherr opened the doors to his Parrot Jungle, and invited curious friends and families in for the first time. In 1946, Winston Churchill paid a visit and very much enjoyed a VIP tour. By the 1980s several movies had been filmed here, including Police Academy and Miami Vice - those were the park's pink flamingos in the opening credits!
With 75 years of animal magic under its belt, this interactive zoological park is a Miami staple. Jungle Island puts visitors in the heart of all things wild and free, with an emphasis on discovery and play. Kids big and little will love some time in the jungle.
