  • Delightful family-friendly musical, based on beloved author Roald Dahl’s book Matilda
  • Multi-award winning production commissioned by the RSC features hilarious lyrics by musical comedian Tim Minchin
  • Winner of 50 major international awards manages to be both heartwarming and subversive

Matilda The Musical, based on Roald Dahl's book of the same name, is the winner of 50 major international awards, including 12 for Best Musical. That's right: critic's have officially called it the * best* musical in the West End.

A show that plays just as well to grown-ups as it does to kids, Matilda tells the story of a sweet and precocious 5-year-old who loves reading, and happens to have powers of telekinesis. Young though she is, she manages to help out her favorite teacher and right a few wrongs, all in that fantastical Roald Dahl-style.

Written by Dennis Kelly, with music by renowned musical comedian Tim Minchin. Initially commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2010 this musical has been drawing in the crowds and the music, all to glorious singable songs, in this adaptation written by Dennis Kelly and Tim Minchin and commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
