Park and National Palace of Pena

This 16th-century monastery was transformed into a royal palace by King Ferdinand II. Not known for his subtlety, Ferdinand's folly is a no-holds-barred tribute to the wealth and influence of 19th-century Portugal.

A testament to the power of imagination (and money), the castle is surrounded by 500 acres of plants and maze-like pathways.

A wonderful place to visit. There is a lot of walking and hiking involved, but it is totally worth a visit if you are in Lisbon.

Easy to use interface. Definitely a must do to order your tickets online for Pena Park and Palace because long lines if you haven't bought online and then only to go into long line after you have bought.

Park and Pena Palace in Sintra
A lovely visit to Pena Palace and Park. We took the train from Lisbon then caught 434 bus just next to the station. Very straightforward. Then having purchased our tickets and getting there early - no queues. It was pleasant walking through the gardens as well as a bit strenuous. We could have taken the park bus but wanted to walk to view the gardens. The Palace is eclectic and curious - stunning views and interesting architecture. A lovely day
