Exhibition

From Vermeer to Van Gogh, the Dutch Masters Les Bassins des Lumières

16 Feb 2024 — 5 Jan 2025

This digital creation presents the genius of the painters of the North through a true immersion in authentic painting, as close as possible to nature and its subjects. Monumental basins provide a backdrop for daydreaming along the Flemish canals. Evolve into the reality of everyday life, in the footsteps of the great masters who approached the ordinary in extraordinary ways.

Painting light and its atmosphere is the common thread running through the exhibition. Direct or subdued, cold or sunny, light reveals the facades and intimacy of homes. Set sail for the cities and stroll through this Vermeerian climate, where the inhabitants invite you to enter the canvas. Vermeer, like a filmmaker, chooses his setting and stages a world in suspense. His canvases are like synopses that open the way to an almost Hitchcockian mystery, where you become part of the staging.

Excellent
Completely mind-blowing in concept scale and content. It might be useful to inform visitors that there are no cafes or restaurants inside, only a kiosque van in the carpark.

Wonderful exhibit, let down by the unclear information Tiqet provided as to entry times. Missed the start of the show that I didn't know existed!
