From Grindelwald, you take the cable car "Eiger Express" to the station Eigergletscher. The modern cable car, opened in 2020, will take you to the station in just 15 minutes. On the way, a magnificent view of the mighty 1800 m high Eiger North Face awaits you.

At the Eiger glacier, you change to the rack railroad and ride through the mountain massif of the Eiger and Mönch to the Jungfraujoch. A short stop is made at the Eismeer station. Here you can admire and photograph the impressive glacier through a large panorama window.

Before you make it to the top, the tracks will change to the Strub System, a necessity to reach the 3,500-meter-high alpine station inside a mountain. The Top of Europe has shopping, snow sports, and even art made of ice. There’s also the opportunity to step onto Aletsch Glacier, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site!

  • Show your smartphone ticket to the train staff at Grindelwald Terminal, and later at Jungfraujoch Railway Station for the return trip.
