Jasper National Park is stunning from every angle, but nothing beats seeing it from a mountaintop at 2,263 metres! Step aboard the longest and highest guided aerial tramway in Canada, and prepare to rise above the sub-alpine forest as distant mountaintops emerge over the treeline, while you marvel at the vast natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies.

A trained guide will be on-hand throughout the flight to provide commentary about the area, its history and the wealth of wildlife nearby as you enjoy the epic uninterrupted views.

Upon your arrival at the upper station, stroll along the accessible, interpretive boardwalk while viewing turquoise-coloured lakes, glacier-fed rivers and the Jasper townsite. For a truly spectacular experience, hike the 1.4-kilometre trail to the summit of Whistlers Mountain and gaze at six mountain ranges, including the Canadian Rockies' highest peak: Mount Robson.

Insider tip

  • Reserve your down flight time after you complete your booking by following the contact instructions on your voucher. We recommend booking your down flight times prior to your arrival date to avoid delays at the upper station. Guests with unreserved flight times will be allocated space in the next available tram cabin
  • Present your smartphone voucher and a valid ID at the lower station Guest Services/Reservation window to receive a paper flight ticket
  • Jasper SkyTram is located 7 km southwest of Jasper, off Highway 93, at the end of Whistlers Road
  • The tram ride is approximately 7.5 minutes each way
  • You can stay up top as long as you like. It's recommended to allow at least 2 hours for this experience
  • Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome on the SkyTram, but are not allowed in the restaurant area and need a ticket (available onsite)
  • Bring a camera, water, sunscreen and dress in layers to stay warm
  • Dress in layers, as mountain weather can be unpredictable – and wear sturdy shoes if you plan to explore the trails. The temperature at the upper station can be 12° cooler or more than the Jasper townsite
  • Snowshoe rentals are available at the upper station from late March to early May
  • Children under 6 years can ride free but must get a ticket and travel with a paid adult
