Important information

* On closed dates this site may still be open, please check English Heritage directly for more information. * From 11th November to the 17th March access to the house will be by guided tours only.
  • Located on the tranquil Isle of Wight, see where British royalty escaped the stresses of court life
  • Step inside Queen Victoria's private apartments and get a glimpse of the monarch's grandeur in the State Rooms
  • Let the kids run free at Queen Victoria's Beach, see her bathing machine, and run along the forested trails

Built especially for Queen Victoria and her husband, Osborne House gives visitors a keen insight into the tastes of royalty at the time. The lavish design of the State Rooms shows the might of the crown in the 19th century, while the family rooms show a more intimate side to the royal family.

Kids can learn about the lives of Victorian children at the Swiss Cottage, but one thing all visitors are likely to share an interest in is the Queen's Beach, which you're free to explore.

  • Show your smartphone ticket at the admission desk
  • From 11th November to the 17th March ( excluding between Christmas and New Year and February Half Term ), access to the house will be by guided tours only.
  • Tours take roughly 45 minutes, and are run every 20 minutes between 10am and 3pm.
  • On arrival, you will be allocated the next available tour of the house.

There are several catering options such as the elegant Terrace Restaurant and Orangery, Petty Officer’s Quarters and the Beach Pavillion.

It was very busy when we got there. Had to queue. Seemed chaotic but settled down and thoroughly enjoyed it. Glad we didn’t go in high seas
