The Hungarian Jewish Museum and Archives are located on Dohány street in the heart of Budapest's Jewish quarter. The museum was finished in 1932, within the building complex of the Dohány Street Synagogue which itself was built in 1859.

The synagogue boasts elements of both Romantic and Moorish architecture and is also home to the Hungarian Jewish Museum and the Holocaust Memorial Room. This magnificent synagogue, seating 3,000 people, is the biggest in Europe and the second biggest in the world.
