I joined the Neuschwanstein Castle tour and absolutely loved it! Our tour guide, Charlie, was fantastic. On the way to the castle and during the visit, he shared so many interesting historical facts and stories that made the whole experience even more special. He also has a great sense of humor — his jokes kept everyone smiling the entire time! Charlie made the tour both fun and informative, and I really appreciated his energy and enthusiasm. I would definitely love to join more tours with him in the future. Highly recommended!
Neuschwanstein Castle Day Trip from Munich
About: Hohenschwangau Castle
This magnificent castle, nested in one of the most romantik part of the Bavarian State, is of medieval origin. The Hohenschwangau Castle was mentioned the first time in records of the 12th century.
Until the 16th century its owners were the knights of Schwangau. During the following time it changed hands a couple of times and was partially destroyed during different wars.
In 1832 the later King Maximilian II., father of King Ludwig II., acquired the ruin and had the castle rebuilt according to original plans. After its completion it used to be the summer and hunting residence of the Bavarian royal family. In his whole life, the famous Bavarian King Ludwig II. spent a few weeks each summer in Hohenschwangau.
Since 1923 the Wilttelsbacher Ausgleichsfonds owns Hohenschwangau Castle.
Innsbruck's Alpenzoo is an alpine-themed zoo located 750 meters above the ground in Innsbruck. This unique zoo covers 4 hectares, and contains around 2,000 animals from around 150 different species. The zoo can be easily reached through the Hungerburgbahn, taking only a few minutes from Congress station to Alpenzoo station.
The Nordkette Cable Car, or Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahnen, is a mountain gondola lift located in the Austrian state of Tyrol.
As the name suggests the gondola ferries people from Innsbruck to the Nordkette, the southernmost mountain chain of the Karwendel.
The cable car runs in two sections from the Innsbruck quarter of Hungerburg via Seegrube Station, to the top station, Hafelekar, which is a dizzying 2,269 m above sea level!
The cableway is the transport hub of the Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahnen ski resort.
