About: Highclere Castle

Highclere Castle is a Jacobethan-style stately home located in the countryside of Hampshire, England. Set on an estate of 5,000 acres, the grandiose house has become a pop culture icon, as it was the main filming location for the Emmy-awarded show, 'Downton Abbey'. It was also used for the filming of the 90's comedy series 'Jeeves and Wooster', starring Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.

The house, its Egyptian exhibition, and gardens are all open to the public for guided tours and special-ticket events.

Oxford Castle

Oxford Castle is a large, partly ruined Norman castle in Oxfordshire, England. Most of the castle was destroyed in the English Civil War, and by the 18th century, the remaining buildings had become Oxford's local prison. The prison closed in 1996 and was redeveloped as a hotel and visitor attraction. The medieval remains of the castle, including St. George's Tower and crypt, as well as the motte, are Grade I listed buildings and a Scheduled Monument.
