Take a voyage of discovery across nine 'decks' at the impressive International Maritime Museum. Meet pirates, find out how captains mastered navigation, take the wheel of a ship via a sailing simulator and make contact with Hamburg's amazing nautical past!

Ten years ago, the oldest surviving storage building in the Port of Hamburg became a museum for the world's largest private maritime collection.

And today you can drop anchor in the port of Hamburg's past oceanic exploits at the International Maritime Museum. Take some time to learn about navigation and communication, journey through maritime progress from antiquity to the 20th century and even meet some pirates!

Watch a time-lapse movie showing the building of a giant ship. See flags and models of pilot ships and lighthouses. Try the ship simulator to see what's like to take the wheel, and don't miss the Queen Mary II, made from almost a million LEGO bricks.

Sehr anstrengend, aber auch sehr sehr schön. Unfassbar viele Ausstellungsstücke und unglaublich lehrreich. Würde ich wieder machen.

Es ist eine wow Erfahrung gewesen. Alles was mit Meer und Schifffahrt zu tun hat findet man auf 8 Stockwerken in diesem Museum. Es ist so interessant und die Geschichte wirkt durch die Exponate...
Es ist eine wow Erfahrung gewesen. Alles was mit Meer und Schifffahrt zu tun hat findet man auf 8 Stockwerken in diesem Museum. Es ist so interessant und die Geschichte wirkt durch die Exponate und die Bilder so aufregend. Man ist fasziniert was der Mensch so geschaffen hat vom Einbaum bis zum grossen Kreuzer. Die Waffen fand ich auch mehr als Interessant, sei es die Bordkanonen, die Schwerter der verschiedenen Länder. Orden, Uniformen, Modelle selbst aus Knochen, die Entstehung des Seils. Knoten etc. Man benötigt wirklich Zeit die es aber wert ist. Würde glatt nochmal dort hingehen. Der Preis war total in Ordnung. Hätte ich es eher gewusst hätte ich mir unten um Laden den Museumsführer gleich gekauft. So habe ich ihn mir zum Nachlesen mitgenommen.

Чудовий музей! Безліч дуже цікавих експонатів цікавих як дорослим, так і дітям. Є інтерактивності, які перетворять вас під час візиту до музею в справжніх мореплавців)) Дуже цікавий інтер'єр і архітектурні рішення музейного простору. Ми в морському музеї витратили часу набагато більше, ніж планували. Час сплинув непомітно і дуже легко. Співробітники доброзичливі і ввічливі. Усім рекомендую відвідати.
