I'm glad I read the reviews carefully as this set fairly low expectations. It's a visit to Laguno Murano Glass, close to St Mark's Square and a short but utterly amazing demonstration of glass...
I'm glad I read the reviews carefully as this set fairly low expectations. It's a visit to Laguno Murano Glass, close to St Mark's Square and a short but utterly amazing demonstration of glass blowing. There was also a very amusing sales pitch carried out by a tall, linguistically accomplished sales rep (he spoke Japanese as well as English), which involved dropping €200 euro gold encrusted glasses onto a crystal mirror and generally knocking them about to show how tough they were. The showrooms were pretty amazing too. What grated was the slightly aggressive salesmen who follow you around like magnets (OK the stock is valuable) and tell you there's no website, the stock has no names and so you either buy there and then or not at all. Maybe that kind of sales pressure works on some people, but not on me, I need time to reflect.
