  • Take a scenic boat trip with a guide in an open or covered boat, depending on the weather
  • Discover what Ghent was like in the Middle Ages and learn the history of the city's landmarks
  • See the housefronts of the Graslei, the meat-market, the Castle of Counts, and more

Leaving from one of Ghent's most beautiful sites, the Graslei, your 40-minute scenic boat trip along the Lys and the Lieve to the Rabot Towers will sail you off on a beautiful history lesson! See this Belgian university town from a whole new angle, rain or shine.

Did you know that in the Dark Ages, Ghent was the second largest city in Europe (outside of Italy)? Dive deep into the past without ever leaving the boat, thanks to your live guide - an enthusiastic local with plenty of stories in his or her pocket.

Who lived in the stunning houses of the Graslei, and what went on behind the craggy, steep walls of the Castle of Counts? What products were sold in the huge old marketplace?

Forget what you thought you knew about Ghent! By the end of this boat ride you'll see it all through new eyes.

Show your smartphone ticket at the box office and board the next available boat. There are departures every 15-40 minutes.

Good
I enjoyed the boat tour. I have liked a slightly longer tour but there was a decent amount of information about the surrounding buildings on the canal. There was lovely scenery for picture taking as well.
