This fun railbike experience is a modern twist on riding the rails. Explore Northern California's redwood forest in silence as your electric-powered railbike breezes you along through an ancient woodland that's got an air of magic about it.
The two-person pedal bike will take you through scenic Pudding Creek, passing over trestle bridges, and into the heart of Mendocino County's incredible nature trails. A light breeze, dappled sunlight piercing through the canopy, and the chance to see blue herons, osprey, and maybe even turtles, deer, and bears in berry season – there's no better way to combine the past and present of rail sightseeing.
Railbikkes by Moonlight – Saturdays at 19:30 only.
You will meet your guides and mount up on state-of-the-art Railbikes that are specially equipped with an electric assist, LED lights, snacks, and beverages of your choosing. After learning how to ride your bike, you will disembark the Railbike Station, meandering by the Pudding Creek Estuary and into the Redwood Forest towards Glen Blair Junction.
Glen Blair Junction is open to you. Sit and roast marshmallows by the fire, take a romantic stroll through the forest, or play a competitive game of cornhole. You will be at Glen Blair Junction for a total of one hour, with half of the time spent in the waning sunlight, and the other half immersed in the dark.
Bikes will depart at 20-second intervals to ride back to the station. The moonlight as well as the LEDs will guide you home.
Fares include a drink token for Glen Blair Bar.
