With special augmented reality smart glasses, enjoy an immersive walking tour designed by archaeologists to showcase what life was like before the volcanic eruption.

Meet your tour leader at the Herculaneum entrance, gear up with your glasses, and witness holograms of significant temples, houses, and buildings overlaid on existing ruins.

This is a unique chance to walk among ancient Romans and relive history, like you've never seen it before.

  • Meet the staff, with a sign that has "ARTour" written on it, at the snack area next to the ticket office
  • The representative will be waiting close to the vending machines where you will find some small tables. The most convenient access is from Viale dei Papiri Ercolanensi
  • Show your voucher to the assistant
  • Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time
  • This is a walking tour, please wear comfortable shoes
  • This is an augmented reality tour that does not include a tourist guide. The Tour Assistant will welcome you, provide you with the necessary tour equipment, and accompany you throughout the entire tour
  • Children younger than 8 years can access to the park with a normal ticket, but they can't use our 3D technology
  • Those booking a EU Citizen (age 18-24) and child rate must show a valid identity document or passport at the ticket office; otherwise you will be required to pay the full fare
  • The tour will operate regardless of the weather, so please dress appropriately
  • Once the tour is over and the AR glasses returned, you can stay in the archaeological park and wander around on your own
  • Cancellation is possible until 24 hours before your visit.
  • Rescheduling is possible until 24 hours before your visit.
