We really enjoyed our visit. Although it was sad to see these birds in cages, we remind ourselves that these are rescued birds. The experience was informative and we’ve spoken and thought about what we learnt many times since. The price $22. Well spent. All funds go back into taking care of these magnificent creatures. ❤️

Lake Cave

Lake Cave is a magnificent, pristine chamber located deep beneath the earth's surface. Visitors descend a staircase through a spectacular sinkhole called a doline, gazing up at the towering karri trees from the floor of the sunken forest. Inside the cave a tranquil lake reflects the delicate crystal formations that grow from the cave ceiling. Droplets hang from the tips of straws and stalactites before dropping to the cave floor or into the lake creating ripples in the water's reflections. Visitors can marvel at the unique 'Suspended Table' formation, which weighs several tonnes and seems to defy gravity as it hovers above the clear lake water. As the guide changes the lights to focus on unique features within the cave, incredible views and silhouettes are etched in the darkness, leaving visitors in awe. Fully guided tours run daily at limited numbers, please book ahead to ensure your place. There is moderate physical exertion required to enter this cave.
