Meeting point
Suffolk St, D02 KX03, DublinJoin a day trip to Wicklow that combines Irish culture, history, and nature. You'll start from the Molly Malone Statue in Dublin and visit several noteworthy places.
The first stop is Beyond the Trees Avondale, the first of its kind in Ireland. There's a 38-meter observation tower that offers a complete view of Avondale woodland, the Avoca Valley, and the Wicklow Mountains.
You can walk to the tower through the woodland, listen for woodpeckers, and look for local animals. There's also an optional spiral slide down from the tower for a little extra fun.
Next, you'll visit Glendalough, a historic site surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was originally a sixth-century monastery retreat created by Saint Kevin. You can explore the old city's ruins and learn about Ireland's spiritual and historical heritage. Afterward, have lunch at a nearby restaurant.
Your journey then takes you to Hollywood, a settlement in Wicklow, so named before the Californian one! Look for their version of the famous Hollywood sign for a fun photo opportunity.
The last highlight of your trip is a sheepdog demo at a traditional Irish sheep farm, to learn more about farm life in Wicklow, including raising sheep and growing organic vegetables.
This tour includes a variety of stops that all show off Wicklow's nature, history, and farming lifestyle.
