Sculptures around Naples: Entry Tickets + Guided Tour

About: Divine Museum

Visit the Museodivino in Naples to see the world's smallest sculptures dedicated to the nativity and the Divine Comedy. Created by priest Antonio Maria Esposito (1917-2007) as an exercise in patience and concentration, the collection is a unique wonder in contemporary art.

Equipped with a magnifying glass and torch, visitors can explore an array of miniature art pieces, from nativity scenes to the expedition toward Paradise alongside a miniature Dante, crafted from tiny droplets of paint.

Ercolano

Herculaneum

Step into life before the Vesuvius eruption with a visit to Herculaneum (Ercolano in Italian). This ancient Roman town lies in the shadows of Mount Vesuvius, and was once wealthier than Pompeii. Both towns were destroyed by volcanic flows in 79 AD. Pompeii is well-preserved but Herculaneum is even more so - the eruption preserved doors, bedding and even food here. This UNESCO World Heritage site allows you to explore several villas and taverns and examine the mosaics and frescoes preserved for centuries by the volcanic water, ash and debris.

The Galleria Borbonica, is an underground passage in Naples with a rich history. Built in 1853 by Ferdinand II of Bourbon, the passage was intended as a potential escape tunnel connecting the Royal Palace with the local military barracks. Since then, it's been used as an air-raid shelter by locals during World War II, and today serves as a popular destination for visitors looking to scratch below the surface of Naples – literally.
