  • Embark on a journey of discovery into the cultural history of Denmark and the world and opt for guided tours on arrival
  • Delve into ethnographic treasures, Viking lore, colonial history, medieval artefacts and more
  • Kids can learn while they play at the Children's Museum - sail a Viking longboat, attend school in the 1930s, and defend a medieval castle from attack!

Deep dive into a vast tapestry of Nordic (and international) cultural history at the National Museum of Denmark. Turn back the clocks with amazing exhibitions, and discover the treasures and people that played a starring role in Danish history. There's even an entire Children's Museum, where kids can absorb a healthy dose of history while they play.

Opt for a guided tour around the museum on site to get a flavor of Danish life and the values that shape Danish culture and society. Find out why Danes are so famously happy and liberal-minded, and just why there are so many bikes everywhere!

Kids can play their way through history aboard a Viking longboat at the Children's Museum, or attend a school class from the 1930s. Make a snack in a medieval kitchen, before bracing the castle for attack - you can't withstand a siege on an empty stomach!

Meanwhile, you can voyage back in time at the Classical and Near Eastern Antiquities exhibition to meet Egyptian mummies, and marvel at Persian ceramics, Roman utensils, Greek sculptures, and other amazing artefacts and treasures of the ancient world.

Then, check out the permanent exhibition about the world of money. Acquire a wealth of knowledge about currency through the ages, and try your hand at winning a million in 'The Money Game'.

Don't miss out the incredibly preserved 2,000-year-old Woman from Huldremose, who looks surprisingly well for her age!
