Visiting the CIlento is truly unique. From the quiet spirituality of temples of Paestum, to the fantastic hill towns and beaches of the coast you have to go to this area that only Italians visit. The food is arguably the best in Italy. The people are kind and gentle and the hiking is spectacular. Lastly finish up your trip with the the Cilento in volo zipline: 1000 feet up, 2+ minutes, great staff. You won't be disappointed.

Paestum

Paestum

Paestum is located south of Naples and is easy to reach with public transport, making for a great day (or half-day) trip from Naples. This Greco-Roman archaeological site is home to the remains of three ancient Greek temples and a museum. Founded as a Greek colony in the 6th century BC, Paestum still has defensive walls, a Roman forum, what's left of a Roman amphitheater and a collection of ancient tombs, all of which can be explored at your leisure!
