About: Montepulciano Cathedral
Montepulciano Cathedral, or, Cathedral Saint Mary Of The Assumption, to give its full name, is the principal place of worship in Montepulciano, in the province of Siena, in the Tuscany region of Italy.
While its exterior is not much to write home about due to being unfinished, its interior tells a different story, and stepping inside you'll be swept into its centuries of history with beautiful Florentine art and architecture everywhere you set you eyes. Among the ornate artworks in the cathedral is an Assumption of the Virgin triptych on the high altar painted by Taddeo di Bartolo all the way back in 1401.
