About: Carrer del Balç Interpretation Centre

Located in the outbuildings of an old manor house, the Interpretation Centre of Carrer del Balç offers a multimedia montage that highlights a unique heritage site and, at the same time, allows visitors to discover what Manresa was like in the 14th century.

The preserved underground street still retains the essence of a fully medieval atmosphere, and wandering through the passages and cellars takes you right back to the Middle Ages.

To understand what makes Museu de la Tècnica de Manresa cool, you have to know a little something about where it is located. It's housed inside a monumental water depot near Manresa, in central Catalonia, and once held 12 million liters of water. Luckily, you don't need scuba gear to visit these days. Now, it's a technology museum with two fascinatingly specific permanent exhibitions that document the technology and history of the area. Focusing on water and textiles specifically, these exhibitions offer a looking glass into the past, showing how each changed the physical and cultural landscape of the area.
